Clubs and Activities
To enhance the learning environment and extend the development opportunities for each student, the British School of Washington offers a rich and varied programme of extracurricular activities in academia, the arts and sport. From individual and team sports to art, music, language, math and science clubs, activities vary by age and are inspired by the interests of our students. The BSW community enjoys working and playing together.
Our students play an active role leading and representing their peers, and participating in the life of the school. The Primary and Secondary School each have a nominated Head Boy and Head Girl supported by Librarians and Prefects, and a School Council. Year 12 students can enroll in the Sports Leadership Program.
We have a lively school spirit and a system of 4 school Houses, with Captains and Deputies chosen each year to lead their House in wide-ranging competition from chess, to singing and languages.
We are proud to play a part in the local community and to reach out into the world. British School of Washington students create and contribute to community service programs at home and abroad, taking part in activities from fundraising for good causes to hands-on environmental clean-up.
