Curriculum
Following an engaging curriculum and using individualized learning strategies, the British School of Washington enables a combination of academic, personal and international learning for every student.
Uniquely, our school program combines the best of international practice with WCL Group’s own innovative and highly-respected curricula; the International Primary Curriculum and the International Middle Years Curriculum. Each curriculum targets personal development as well as academic achievement, and all encompass a global view. We embrace learning outside the classroom, and enjoy educational excursions to local attractions and important institutions as well as overnight trips for adventure programs.
We place each student at the center of their own individual learning plan. Teachers consider learning style as well as existing knowledge, skills and understanding, to develop lessons and activities that offer personal challenge, growth and success. Close assessment and a flexible approach ensure that each student is able to access and demonstrate the learning required at each stage of the curriculum.
